This student-organized event, led by Sofia Monroy ’22, features a historical exploration of how the Western film genre has informed many forms of art, including works in the Anderson Collection.

Through discussing contemporary works by Susan Rothenberg, Deborah Butterfield, and Jim Campbell that depict the horse, we will track the symbolic power of this animal in the West, and connect it to the legacy of Stanford University.
