This week, students win art scholarships, a film on feminist art screens at Stanford and international fashion designers sell their goods for a good cause.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS … The Mountain View-based arts nonprofit, Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA), has announced the names of 27 students who have been awarded scholarships for the continued study of visual art. The students, who range from first to eighth grade, come from Santa Clara and San Mateo County Schools, and were nominated by their classroom teachers based on their talent, hard work and demonstrated interest in art. The stduetns will be invited to take part in CSMA art programs. Those interested in learning more can go to arts4all.org or call 650-917-6800.

FEMINIST ART ON FILM … On Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m., the Anderson Collection at Stanford University will host a free screening of filmmaker Lynn Hershman Leeson’s “!Women Art Revolution.” The film focuses on the way the Feminist Art Movement amalgamated free speech, politics and aesthetics to create radical statements with lasting cultural impact.

Following the film, Leeson will take part in a panel discussion with Feminist Art Historian and critic Moira Roth, Stanford chair of Theater and Performance Studies Jennifer DeVere Brody and others. For more information about the event, go to anderson.stanford.edu or call 650-721-6055.

FASHION FOR A CAUSE … One of a kind textiles, jewelry, bags, children’s clothes and more will be offered for sale as part of the ninth annual STYLE fashion event and sale. The independent fashion showcase takes place Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Mountain View Center (701 E. El Camino Real). Tickets are $10 online or at the door, and proceeds from the sales go to support the Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Survivorship Program.
