Student works from Video Art I

February 22, 2018 - February 26, 2018

This series of films has been created by students in Stanford’s Winter 2018 Video Art I class. The pieces explore the ways in which video as a medium can be forced and coaxed towards partial or complete abstraction. Some do this playfully, some poetically, some very intimately, others almost violently. Each piece is as different as the student who made it, but all are united in a spirit of experimentation and in a rejection of easy representation.
