A performance bridging the auditory and visual worlds of the arts through installations and performances.

April 23, 2019 at 5:30pm, galleries, FREE, RSVP required

Anderson x CCRMA: Sound Happenings is a show bridging the auditory and visual worlds of the arts through installations and performances by members of the Stanford Music community, including the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA).

The event takes place in the galleries of the Anderson Collection, and will feature 8-channel sound installations, generative video works, and performances by composers in the Stanford DMA program, to name a few. This magical transformation of the museum will inspire dialogue regarding fixed versus ephemeral art forms, artistic research versus artistic practice, and the connections between science, technology, and art.

5:30 – 6:30 PM: Installations by Chris Chafe, Andrew Watts, Nolan Lem, Doug McCausland, J. Zhu & Michiko Theurer, Doga Cavdir, Mayank Sanganeria, Simona Fitcal, Rahul Agnihotri, and Trijeet Mukhopadhyay.

6:30 – 8:00 PM: Performances by Fernando Lopez-Lezcano, Constantin Basica, Andrew Watts, Julie Herndon, Hassan Estakhrian, Stephanie Sherriff, and Aditya Chander.

This program is from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. RSVP here.
