Stanford students enrolled in spring quarter’s StratLab: Visual Performance in Museums and Arts Spaces will be performing their final projects on Monday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 7. The class, taught by Theater and Performance Studies faculty Aleta Hayes and Director of Programming and Engagement at the Anderson Collection Aimee Shapiro is inspired by the work of artist Nick Cave. Students explored performance art from the 1920s until today with guests including Frank Smigiel, Associate Curator of Performance and Film at SFMOMA, artists Desirée Holman and Brontez Purnell, and art critic and poet John Yau.
